Prior to being elected to the City Council, Alicia served on the Environmental Commission, the Planning Commission and the Foundation for the Las Virgenes Schools.
She has earned the admiration of the community for her accessibility and efficiency in solving local problems. She has been outspoken in her battle against antisemitism and co-produced a massive pro-Israel rally outside Calabasas City Hall only days after October 7, followed up by an even larger Chanukah festival and Jewish solidarity event on the same spot.

Sergeant Mordechay Shenvald
- IDF Tank Commander & Violinist
Mordechay Shenvald, also known as "The Fiddler on a Tank", is a tank commander in the IDF's Artillery Corps Unit 402. On November 2, 2023, he was injured in a fierce battle with terrorists in Northern Gaza. During his three-month hospitalization and rehabilitation, he used his musical talents to entertain and uplift the patients and visitors around him. The violin he plays belonged to his late uncle, Meir, also a sergeant in the IDF, who was killed in a terror attack in 1995, only a short distance from where Mordechay was injured.
